Modulus' MongoDB Infrastructure

Last Updated: Feb 15, 2016 12:53PM EST

This document outlines some technical details about how the Modulus MongoDB offering works.

Shared Database

Every MongoDB database exists within the Modulus MongoDB cluster. Authentication is done using MongoDB's built-in users and authentication mechanisms. Modulus monitors the performance of the MongoDB cluster and dynamically adds nodes to ensure optimal performance.

Reliability

Data should be backed up manually using the export functionality in your database dashboard or by using the mongoexport or mongodump command line tools directly. Check your database dashboard for connection information.
